Rehab of Commercial Property Program

Overview

The City of Sharon is providing a grant opportunity for privately- and publicly-owned businesses to assist with correction of code violations in their building. Proposed projects must align with the City’s current Consolidated Five-Year Action Plan and Annual Action Plan.

Objectives of this grant include:

• To encourage the establishment, growth, and retention of businesses Business 
• To encourage business investment and commercial building improvements in the City of Sharon.

The program grant cycle begins October 9^th, 2024 and ends when the funding has been spent. Applications may be submitted via email to the City of Sharon Community Development Department, at skepple@cityofsharon.net.

Hard copies will be received at the Community Development Department in the Sharon Municipal Building, 155 West Connelly Blvd.

Eligibility

• Be privately- or publicly-owned business located within Sharon, PA city limits
• Demonstrate need for correction of code violations
• Demonstrate Housing and Urban Development (HUD) eligibility requirements (based on location and/or income requirements)

Maximum Amount of Grant

• $5,000 per business (Note: Davis-Bacon Prevailing Wage requirements may apply for projects over $2,000)

Payment: The City will not issue payments prior to work completed or invoiced. Invoices must be provided to the City and detail the specific work performed and/or material purchased. The applicant must file all change orders with the City. All change orders are subject to City approval of such changes.
